UPSAINIAN AGM Registration 9th – 10th December 2023

President Message

Greetings,

I write this with extreme sadness and a very heavy heart. We lost a child, a student who drowned while swimming in our school’s pool.

As parents we send our children, the light of our eyes, to boarding schools thinking that their guardians there will protect them and keep them safe. Somebody failed to take care of this child. Our deepest condolences to the family. We pray that his soul rests in peace.

While we stand with the school administration, UPSAINIAN- OBA also urges them to investigate this matter thoroughly and find the people or person responsible for this child’s life.

Strict action should be taken against those responsible, along with extra steps to ensure something like this never ever happens again in the school premises. The students safety and well-being is of utmost importance to all of us and this should reflect in our actions.

We pray for the child’s soul and the family. Om shanti 🙏🏻

It is with immense pride and deep emotion that I write this note today as the President of The Sainik School Old Boys Association. Today, the Foundation Day, is a day of celebration, reflection, and heartfelt gratitude as we come together to honour the legacy of our beloved institution.

To begin with, I extend my warmest congratulations to all the alumni. Each one of you is a testament to the enduring spirit and excellence that Sainik School instils in its students. You carry the values, discipline, and honour that this great institution has imparted to you. Your achievements in various fields, your contributions to society, and your unwavering commitment to our nation’s progress are sources of immense pride for all of us.

Our journey started with a visionary idea, and for this, we owe a debt of gratitude to the founders of our beloved Sainik School……

About Us

Creation of UP Sainik School, Lucknow The first decade after independence was a traumatic one. The wounds of partition, communal holocaust, resettlement of millions of refugees, integration of the five hundred and odd native states, the clamour of linguistic reorganization – these were but a few of the daunting problems. The compulsive hostility of Pakistan, souring of the once friendly ties with China, turbulence in the North- East and a vast coastline highlighted the necessity of a nationally representative, sizeable and well- equipped Army, Navy and Air-Force.

Aims & Objectives

To prepare a cadet to join National Defence Academy. Prepare him to be self reliant and excel in other fields in case he is unable to join NDA. Provide quality education and ensure homogenious development. Inculcate national spirit to infuse loyalty, honesty, integrity and patriotism to take on individual and corporate responsibility.

Our website ‘www.upsainikschool.org’ launched on April 28, 2000, and launched by Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh at CM Annexe in presence of OBA Members.

Prior to the Government of India Act of 1935 and the acute demands of World War II, the officer cadre of our armed forces was not open to our countrymen. Rare exceptions were granted to the scions of royalty and blue blood. Analysis of then existing officer cadre revealed a disturbing trend. It remained a monopoly of the so-called martial races and regions and alumni of the highly expensive and elitist public schools beyond the reach of all but a few. In short, our defence forces lacked a truly all-India image, character and ethos. The Indian Military Academy was in existence, therefore the setting up of the National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khadakvasla was but a logical step.
